Legends Unearthed is now assessing its hand-picked selection of great hotels and premium detecting sites, for inclusion in this year's season.
Over the coming weeks we will announce dates for the Platinum and Excelsior packages for 2025.
We will reach out to everyone who registers an interest, with details of the vacations and how to secure a place.
Currently we are engaging with landowners in the counties of Somerset & Wiltshire to gather premium permissions for the vacations. Somerset and Wiltshire are of special interest to us as a historical hot spot, there's a lot of very exciting bronze age, iron age & Roman activity at the sites we are looking at, not to mention the more common medieval and later periods. Wiltshire is offering some spectacular accommodation opportunities.
We're fortunate to have so many layers of history on our doorstep, there is too much to chose from. They always say there is at least one hammered coin in every field. but finding the best of the best for your trip is paramount. 5 days will go quickly, your time is precious.
We are not restricting ourselves to specific areas at the moment, the more land we can secure for the trips gives us more flexibility. We have a mix of pasture and arable, both with their seasonal restrictions. While we can get onto pasture more regularly we are governed by the grass harvest and arable really only has 2 tight time windows per year, post plough and pre seeding.
Our current objective is sizing up the interest and from this we can decide how many groups and when they might occur. Only then can we lock in specific locations from our "stable".
